Kepak St. Merryn in Bodmin has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are looking for a Security Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our customers, employees and visitors. Working closely with the Security Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day security operation and take responsibility for the department in their absence. You will lead by example, support the wider security team and ensure the highest standards of safety, security and professionalism are maintained at all times.

The role will involve:

  • Regular patrols
  • CCTV monitoring
  • Access control
  • Visitor screening and monitoring of entry and exit points
  • Responding to incidents, emergencies and suspicious activity
  • Maintaining accurate security logs and reports
  • Investigating incidents
  • Managing traffic and parking
  • Liaising with emergency services when required
  • Providing valuable feedback to management
  • Supporting the development of security procedures, risk assessments and processes

Requirements:

  • Previous operational and supervisory experience within the security industry
  • Strong knowledge of security procedures, processes and relevant legislation
  • Excellent observation, surveillance and investigation skills, with the ability to identify and respond to potential risks
  • Valid SIA Front Line Licence (DS/SG) is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Dependable, professional and calm under pressure, with strong integrity, responsibility and decision-making skills
  • Full UK driving licence and additional training in security, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene or Animal Welfare would be desirable
