Kepak Group is currently seeking a QA (Ear Tag and Cattle Passport Checker) to join our team. As an Irish owned food company with over 50 years' expertise in the meat craft, Kepak Group serves international markets, restaurants, and household food service names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food service solutions, and ready-for-market convenience foods.

Please note that this role will require working within the Slaughter Hall, ensuring correlation of the carcass to the passport, maintaining full integrity and traceability.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Matching the ear tag numbers with the passport prior to scanning it onto the linking system.
  • Printing labels containing kill number, kill date, lot, and sex of the animal.
  • Applying labels to the passport and instructing FSA to start their 10% checks.
  • Reporting any anomalies to the Technical Team, Slaughter Hall Manager, Supervisor, or line driver and stopping the line immediately if necessary.
  • Adhering to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

Monday to Friday working from 6.30 am to production finish. Permanent position based on 45 hours per week.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work with the abattoir and be in close contact with carcasses.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
  • Basic computer literacy (training will be provided).
  • Professional approach with strong influencing skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Commitment to good practice and compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements (training will be provided).
