We are now recruiting for experienced Slaughter Operatives.
Job Purpose
Responsible for slaughter, dressing and preparation of carcasses and edible offal for sale and consumption in accordance with Company SOP's.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform slaughter, dressing, and preparation of carcasses and edible offal at line speed.
- Participate fully in Lean Manufacturing processes and embrace new methods of working.
- Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets.
- Ensure product is of the highest standard, reporting any issues to the Line Supervisor immediately.
- Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensuring materials are ready to use.
- Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as instructed.
- Maintaining good understanding and knowledge of Company SOP's and yields.
- Complying with quality specifications and understanding yield values.
- Complying with Company's knife and health and safety rules, including hygiene requirements.
- Report all breakages, damages or defaults of equipment immediately to Line Supervisor, only using equipment when safe to do so.
- Reporting any accidents or near misses, assisting with investigations as instructed/necessary.
- Minimising and reporting of waste appropriately.
- Preparing carcasses and offal to the required standards.
- Maintaining and securely storing tools and equipment.
- Actively participate in all required company training.
- Any other duties as instructed by supervisors/management and within the competency of the post holder.

Requirements
- Competence and significant experience in slaughter and/or knife skills preferred.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory highly beneficial.
- Able to work in warm environment.
- Manual handling ability and awareness.
- Fluent English, communicate well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels.
- Flexibility to meet daily production targets.
- Consistent approach and strong work ethic.
- Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Adaptable to change and production demands.
- Passion for food.
