Training School Trainer

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing the competence and safety of employees and contractors who work trackside across our network. As a Training School Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality track safety and safety-critical training, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting operational excellence across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver track safety training courses including Track Awareness (TA), PICOW, safety inductions and other approved training programmes.
• Work closely with the Training Coordinator to ensure all prerequisite requirements are met before training delivery.
• Ensure delegates receive joining instructions and relevant course information in advance of training.
• Upload competencies to the Sentinel system following successful course completion.
• Monitor and review training feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead course reviews and standardisation meetings.
• Produce reports relating to training delivery and identified training needs.
• Support the development and maintenance of training materials and course content.
• Represent the Training School at internal and external meetings, including industry working groups.
• Maintain NSAR Assured Trainer/Assessor status through continuous professional development activities.
• Support the upkeep of learning management systems and training resources.

What We’re Looking For

• Recognised teaching or training qualification Level 3 AET or equivalent
• Recognised assessor qualification, such as the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
• Proven experience delivering safety-critical and track safety training.
• Strong knowledge of Sentinel and competence management systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to adapt training delivery to different learning styles and learner needs.
• Experience working with diverse groups, including learners with English as a second language.
• Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Previous rail industry training experience.
• Experience maintaining NSAR Assured Trainer/Assessor status.
• Experience managing course content and training programme development.
• Experience working closely with contractors and external stakeholders within a regulated environment.
