KeolisAmey Docklands operates the Docklands Light Railway on behalf of Transport for London, delivering safe, reliable and innovative transport services across East and Southeast London. We are committed to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and maintaining a safe and reliable fleet for our customers.
We are looking for a Test Engineer to manage and develop our rolling stock testing capability, ensuring train components are reliable, safe and fit for service. This is a hands-on engineering role combining testing, fault investigation, reliability improvement and technical development, supporting both day-to-day operations and longer-term fleet performance. You will play a key role in reducing unnecessary component repairs, improving system reliability, and enhancing in-house technical capability.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement test processes and equipment to support fleet reliability
- Manage and operate rolling stock test equipment and facilities
- Diagnose faults and verify component performance to reduce unnecessary external repairs
- Support in-house repair capability development for train components
- Work with Production, Stores and Engineering teams to ensure parts are fit for service
- Analyse failure and reliability data to identify improvement opportunities
- Support technical investigations with suppliers, including site visits where required
- Contribute to technical documentation, including maintenance and test instructions
- Support engineering projects and technical change (CAP process)
- Assist in improving fleet performance and system reliability
What You’ll Need
- Degree or higher qualification in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, testing and fault finding
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Experience working in an engineering, maintenance or technical environment
- Working towards or ability to achieve IEng or CEng accreditation
- Experience with rolling stock, rail or similar complex systems
- Knowledge of diagnostic or engineering software tools
