Keoghs are seeking to recruit two Trainee Solicitors for their Motor and Casualty teams respectively. The Trainee Solicitor will assist the fee earners in their team and manage their own caseload.

Keoghs are seeking to recruit two Trainee Solicitors for their Motor and Casualty teams respectively. The Trainee Solicitor will assist the fee earners in their team and manage their own caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support team members in progressing files from receipt to resolution, managing own caseload under supervision.
  • Arrange meetings, consultations, site visits, expert appointments.
  • Client, third-party, court liaison, instructing counsel as needed.
  • Review and analyze documents, attend with policyholders and witnesses, prepare witness statements.
  • Draft court documents, correspondence, conduct legal research, and draft articles or blogs.
  • Prepare documents for court lodging, attend hearings, draft evidence notes.

During the training contract, it is expected the Trainee Solicitor will develop sufficient skills to handle their own files with close supervision. They will need to analyze liability, quantum, causation, draft reports, and appear in court after 12 months, including Proof hearings. Negotiation skills and file handling are essential.

Working hours

  • 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, with 1 unpaid lunch hour.
  • Flexible hybrid working model based in Glasgow.
