Location: Southampton (open to any Keoghs office location) Take Your Large Loss Career to the Next Level We're looking for a talented Large Loss Lawyer to join our highly regarded Complex Injury team at Keoghs.

This is an opportunity to work on high-value, complex injury claims while developing your own caseload and building strong relationships with leading insurer clients.

The role is primarily based in Southampton, however we are open to candidates based at any Keoghs office location.

What You'll Be Doing You'll join a specialist team handling significant injury claims, managing your own caseload while supporting the Lead Lawyer on more complex matters.

Your work will include

  • Managing your own EL / PL & RTA caseload of high-value multi-track injury claims.
  • Assisting on complex and higher-value RTA/EL/PL claims, including catastrophic injury cases where claims are valued up to and exceeding £1 million.
  • Advising insurer clients on liability, quantum, indemnity and litigation strategy.
  • Drafting pleadings, defences and technical legal advice.
  • Working closely with experts, counsel and insurer clients to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, with opportunities to generate and attract your own instructions if desired.

What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you'll have

  • Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer or equivalent relevant defendant injury litigation experience.
  • Experience handling or assisting with injury claims valued at £500,000+.
  • A defendant insurance background.
  • Previous experience of Ogden calculations and significant loss of earnings claims.
  • Experience managing your own caseload autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of EL/PL and RTA litigation.
  • Experience dealing with complex liability, quantum and medical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with sophisticated insurer clients.
  • The motivation and desire to assist and develop more junior members of the team in order to help their career advancement.
