To handle own caseload of pre-litigated NIHL claims, in a supported team environment. To manage and progress claims to conclusion or the point of litigation. In accordance with appropriate strategies to secure desired outcomes for clients at appropriate levels of profitability.
The File Handler is required to have experience of NIHL / Military Disease Claims and to demonstrate an ability to deal with a caseload of pre-litigated claims. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of tasks on pre-litigated files to ensure all Client KPI’s and SLA’s are met. This role would be ideal for a candidate who is looking for experience running their own caseload.
Key Accountabilities:- Maintain a caseload of approximately 250 files
- Reviewing documents and preparing reports
- Reviewing evidence (including medical / personnel records)
- Sending out Initial Letters and completing initial file opening procedures upon receipt of new files
- Companies Searches and ELTO Searches
- Director searches and letters
- Instructions to investigators
- Telephone/email chasers to claimant solicitors, insurance companies and brokers for HMRC
- Schedule, medical evidence, mandates and updates
- General admin including diarising dates
- Conducting investigations with Insured / obtaining witness statements
- Research
- Drafting generally
- Dealing with routine correspondence
- Liaising with and taking instructions from Insurers and Insureds
- To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
- Adhere to the Keoghs Values
- Desirable: Awareness and understanding of file handling processes for disease claims; Basic understanding of all stages of the pre-litigation process for disease claims
- Essential: Technically proficient in dealing with disease cases, NIHL as a minimum; Effective negotiator; Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel in particular) and experience of using a Case/Claims Management system; Ability to use own initiative, self-organise and self-prioritise; Ability to maintain concentration and pay attention to detail; Good listening and communication skills; Ability to work under pressure and to target
