Infant Approval Claims Handler Manchester City Centre
Start Date: Friday 2 October 2026
Fixed-Term Contract: 9 Months (with potential extension to 12 months)
Looking to build your legal career with a friendly and supportive team? We're on the lookout for an Infant Approval Handler to join our team in Manchester City Centre on a fixed-term basis. You don't need a legal background for this role. We're much more interested in finding someone who enjoys working in a structured environment, has great attention to detail, and is confident managing tasks and deadlines. The role is based around reviewing information, updating records, preparing documents, and ensuring important processes are followed accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of litigated Infant Approval matters from instruction through to resolution
- Reviewing new instructions, setting reserves and developing case strategies
- Identifying and addressing technical issues within files
- Assessing and valuing damages and supporting settlement negotiations
- Drafting court documentation and filing Acknowledgements of Service
- Updating reserves as evidence is received
- Maintaining accurate case records and meeting agreed performance targets
- Assisting with court order diary management when required
- Ensuring compliance with client guidelines and legal procedures
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Previous experience in an office, administration, customer service, or process-driven environment
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to follow processes and work to deadlines
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach.
