Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Credit Hire File Handler to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to investigate complex credit hire claims from a tactical and strategic point. The File Handler will carry out complex & technical investigations on claims submitted from specific opponents, with claims valued up to Β£25,000.

Key Accountabilities
- Education β at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent are essential and a degree is preferable.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
- Good telephone negotiation skills.
- Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy.
- Ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.
- Ability to make decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System preferred.
- Experience of credit hire is essential. Expected to have worked in a credit hire environment for at least 12 months.
Technical Knowledge to be Developed
- Understanding of Pre Proceedings Credit Hire.
- The life cycle of a file.
- Knowledge of common law and litigation principles.
- An understanding of costs and protective offers.
- How to prepare a case for litigation.

Working Hours
35 hours per week, Monday β Friday 9am β 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the office and 4 days from home.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Experience of handling Credit Hire files with evidence of managing own case load.
- Education β at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent are essential and a degree / LPC is preferable.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
- Good telephone negotiation skills.
- Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy.
- Ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.
- Ability to make decisions.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System preferred.
