About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Field Engineer with a strong background in motor engineering and claims. This role requires expertise in vehicle inspection, repair cost negotiation, and claims management, supporting both customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You will play a key role in assessing vehicle damage, providing valuations, and managing total loss settlements across a wide variety of vehicle types.
What will your day look like: Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate, detailed, and high-quality engineering reports
  • Assess, value, and negotiate vehicle repair costs
  • Provide fair and accurate vehicle valuations
  • Negotiate total loss settlements
  • Apply detailed knowledge of salvage categories
  • Manage claims through to resolution
  • Liaise with repairers, customers, and internal teams
  • Support colleagues and contribute to team success

Knowledge and Abilities: Skills & ExperienceEssential:
Qualified to IAEA or ATA (VDA) standard

  • Experience within insurer or independent engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of claims processes and salvage categorisation
  • Experience using estimating systems (e.g. Audatex, GT Motive, Glasss)
  • Ability to inspect a wide range of vehicles including:
    • Cars
    • HGVs
    • Agricultural machinery
    • Caravans
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
