Description
To review, assess and negotiate settlement of costs matters in our clinical negligence team, and deal with all procedural aspects and pleadings until settlement or assessment of costs. To provide costs advice to clients and the main teams, and to negotiate costs on a variety of matters delivering savings for our clients.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Quickly review files & formulate initial costs strategy
- Provide comprehensive advice to clients
- Commence early telephone negotiations with the other side
- Liaise with Insurers throughout the case
- Build strong relationships with colleagues and the wider business
Key Responsibilities
- Manage own caseload using in-house case management system, ensuring accurate records and billing
- Review, advise, and negotiate end-of-life costs, draft Points of Dispute, respond to replies
- Achieve daily chargeable hours target and meet service level agreements
- Delegate tasks appropriately within the team
- Set and review case strategies, prepare reports, and update clients
- Negotiate costs advantageous to clients
- Handle correspondence and calls
- Draft applications and instruct Counsel or conduct own advocacy as needed
Working Hours
35 hours/week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, location: Liverpool
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Essential:
- Experience in negotiating costs, including preparing points of dispute
- GCSEs or equivalent, including maths and English
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience handling own caseload and meeting KPIs
- Proactive, organized, and team-oriented
- Proficient in IT
Desirable:
- Degree, LPC, ALCD, or equivalent
- Experience in advocacy
