Keoghs LLP is one of the leading insurance law firms in the UK and can rightly claim to be amongst the most dynamic in its sector. We now have a number of exciting opportunities to join our Property Risks and Coverage Large & Complex Loss team. These roles are based out of our Bristol office.
Our cases require a collaborative approach and you will be part of a team which will typically handle property damage claims arising from fires, floods, product liability and other perils. You will be supporting more experienced lawyers who will be dealing with complex Household and Commercial property damage matters. The team acts on behalf of a number of the key insurer clients for the firm.
Key Accountabilities:- The team has a particular focus on higher value and complex matters, including claimant and defendant work, claims where policy coverage is in issue and claims for corporate clients.
- The work that the team does will involve advising a number of well-known insurers on issues of policy coverage, prospects of success and evidential matters arising from complex fires, floods and other perils.
- This is primarily an assisting role and you will not be required to handle a case load in your own right, but you will be managing cases directly under the supervision of the Lead Lawyer/Partner.
- You will also be working on delegated tasks on files belonging to the wider team.
- Chasing documents
- Telephone calls to court/clerks/client
- Collating documents for lawyers needed to consider strategy
- Preparing bundles
- Diarising Court orders and other critical dates
- Arranging conferences
- Arranging Counsel and other expert attendance
- Legal research & completing factual chronologies
- Ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
- In addition, any other duties as may be required.
- Degree level education and/or postgraduate
