Davies are looking to recruit a Liability Adjuster to join our growing Casualty team.
Overview
The role would suit an experienced Loss Adjuster or Casualty Claims Handler seeking a fresh challenge, someone who is ambitious, can demonstrate an ability to develop the skills and knowledge needed, and who would like to take the next step in their career. This field-based role covers caseloads in the South East, so travel within the area is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaison with Insurers, Policyholders and Brokers
- Investigation of allocated claims in the field or from the desk
- Compilation of all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
- Preparation of Preliminary Reports detailing the evidence available and commenting upon Policy Indemnity, Legal Liability, Quantum, and Tactics
- Determine appropriate action for resolution of the case
- Defend or negotiate settlement where appropriate, within agreed authority limits
- Correspond with all parties professionally to proactively progress the case to conclusion
- Investigate and handle all cases in accordance with the client’s requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times
- Maintain a proper reserve at all times by regular review
- Keep updated on any technical changes relevant to your role including participating in training programmes facilitated by the company
- All staff are expected to carry out any reasonable instruction given by their line manager, in line with business requirements.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Previous Loss Adjuster experience
- Experience of investigating and handling Casualty Claims
- Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market
- Knowledge of legal principles, regulations, Acts and the like
- Knowledge of Civil procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Excellent customer service
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Take responsibility for your own workload
- Must be able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
- Strong IT skills
