This role offers an exciting opportunity to investigate litigated credit hire claims up to Β£25,000 in value. The priority is to pursue settlements in line with client instruction to achieve maximum savings swiftly.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage a caseload of DA credit hire files, and potential PI litigation under supervision of Team Leader.
- Review and analyse files throughout the case life cycle and according to client guidelines.
- Formulate initial strategy and submit for approval by Team Leader.
- Conduct legal research.
- Negotiate by telephone with third-party solicitors.
- Liaise with the insured and insurers as required.
- Ensure actions are carried out as per the task list in the Case Management System.
- Accurately complete management information processes (MI).
- Process bills.
- Maintain files within ISO 9001 guidelines and SRA Standards.
- Adhere to Keoghs Values and work in a target-driven environment.
- Draft defences, direction questionnaires, disclosure, exchange of evidence, pre-trial checklists, instruct counsel, draft CPR Part 18 and 35 questions, and draft counter schedules.
Working Hours
35 hours per week. 9 am β 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour for lunch.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Experience of litigation and handling credit hire files, evidence of managing own case load.
- Education β at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent. A degree/LPC is preferable.
- Initiative, planning and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent listening and verbal communication skills; good telephone negotiation skills.
- Ability to follow work processes and remain calm under pressure.
- Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System (preferred).
- Adherence to Keoghs Values.
Desirable
- Experience of handling PI claims.
