Supporting File Handlers; performing delegated tasks, to pursue the progression and/or resolution of a file as soon as practically possible. The role will involve working on complex and high value military claims in a fast paced environment allowing for development in NIHL cases.

Key Accountabilities

  • To undertake initial steps on a file including sending out acknowledgements, and procedural documents such as registration of CRU and the obtaining of key documentation.
  • Conducting such investigations as are appropriate and as may be delegated by File Handler/s, this could include obtaining and reviewing military personnel and medical records/medical evidence.
  • Carry out standard procedural tasks.
  • Progress with training to allow development with the role to allow the completion of more complex tasks.
  • Instructing experts where the need arises.
  • To assist the File Handlers in progressing the file in the most appropriate manner.
  • To ensure compliance with SRA Standards & Regulation.
  • Adaptable, follows direction of the File Handler/s and prioritises own activity on a daily basis.
  • Support File Handlers.
  • Works on case load of File Handlers.
  • Completes delegated tasks within the time frame set.

This role is a junior entry level role that will support an individual in the first steps of their legal career. This role will initially involve repetitive tasks, however, opportunities to develop (where desired) will be supported based on the performance of the individual and the appetite to progress in the role.
