The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The Assistant File Handler (AFH) will be assigned to work under a Partner within the Disease department with a caseload of Hourly Rate Industrial Disease claims including but not limited to NIHL (Noise Induced Hearing Loss), HAVS (Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome) and potentially other disease cases. Performing delegated tasks to pursue the progression/resolution of a file as soon as practically possible. The role will involve working upon complex and high-value claims in a fast-paced environment, allowing for the development of disease cases.
Key Accountabilities
- Compliance with client SLAs
- Compliance with court directions and timetables
- Drafting Court Documents
- Negotiation
- Advocacy, including attending telephone hearings
- Analysis of evidence
- Client Reporting
- Instructing and liaising with Counsel/experts
- Preparation of bundles
- Completing and updating MI
- Achieve a chargeable target

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Experience of claims handling (either pre litigation or litigated)
- Understanding of the litigation process
- Ability to work with and take instruction from a Partner
- Motivated to attempt new challenges and develop into a File Handler
- Awareness of the disease market and legal developments
- Ability to work to targets and deadlines
- Attention to detail
- An understanding of client needs/requirements
