For our branch office KenzFigee UK in Aberdeenshire, we are looking for an experienced Service Engineer with PLC knowledge an advantage. The duty of the Service Engineer will be to work offsite, onshore or offshore to carry out maintenance schedules and repairs to offshore cranes or similar offshore equipment. There may be short terms of work at the onshore service base. The Service Engineer supports the clients requirements as directed by the operations and engineering department. You will have excellent experience of hydraulic and mechanical systems. As Service Engineer you will rotate at the Service Department. For the Service Department you will be assigned to go to site, which can be all over the world from Aberdeen to Brazil, from Singapore to Middle East. On customers’ site (offshore and onshore) you fulfil an important role to ensure that the cranes or equipment are working properly. This involves assembling, commissioning, testing and also inspecting and maintaining the cranes and equipment.
Tasks:
- Carry out maintenance work as per the schedules for the equipment;
- Carry out repairs and modifications as dictated by the engineering department;
- Be competent at understanding and following schematic diagrams;
- Be able to compile daily reports and technical assessments of the equipment as required;
- Be able to fault find problems and liaise with onshore engineering assistance as required;
- Be willing to train and develop following the competency graded scheme;
- Troubleshooting;
- Assembling, installing and testing systems and installations;
- Replacing parts (hydraulic/mechanical/electrical);
- Replacement of steel cables;
- Communication interface on location between customer and the organization;
- Recognize complications;
- Solving technical problems;
- General inspections;
- Conducting an investigation of identified problems;
- Compiling reports following work done, tests or investigations at customers or internally.
Qualifications:
- Minimum completed college/apprenticeship level of education in a technical direction;
- Minimum 4 years relevant work experience in a technical environment;
- Good knowledge of English language in speech and writing;
- Preferably experience in at least two of the following disciplines: mechanics, electrics, PLC and hydraulics;
- Preferably familiar with the offshore safety standards and requirements;
- Able to read drawings;
- Team player;
- Professional and positive attitude;
- Independent and proactive.
