My client is a housing provider based in South London looking to recruit a Housing Support Officer to work as part of their established team. As the Housing Support Officer you will be carrying out a range of duties, some of which are but not limited to:

  • Provide a service for the clients and ensure they are housing ready at the housing staging post.
  • Explore move on options for the clients in order to sustain meaningful accommodation and avoid being back to rough sleeping.
  • Support rough sleepers by ensuring that referrals are made to relevant services, in line with local objectives and targets.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide 1:1 support to Service Users Face to Face or via telephone communication.
  • Ensure that Service users are registered with local Healthcare professionals (GP, Dentist) ideally within the first 7 days of their placement commencement with the provider.
  • Support Service users to complete Housing Benefit and Universal Credit claims at point of placement.
  • Check company emails daily and respond in a reasonable timescale.
  • Make relevant referrals to external agencies in support of Service user needs.
  • Ensure that Support plans are updated daily, and that information is accurate.
  • Assist Service Users to property viewings.
  • Attend Supervisions with your line manager.
  • Attend and participate in staff team meetings.
  • Attend Service User House meetings.
  • Report any property defects or damage when visiting Service Users at their abodes.
  • Remind Service Users of service charge payments.
  • Where applicable assist with evictions & sustainment procedures.
  • Processing licences, leases, deposit guarantees.

The working hours are full time, 37.5 hours per week. Working hours are mostly 9-5 but may vary as per the service requirement. Night shifts are also available for any candidates that can work during these hours. The hourly pay rate is £14.85 per hour Umbrella. There is scope for this role to become permanent for the right candidate. This role does require a driver with access to their own car.
