This is an all rounder role in our shop, get involved in a little bit of everything.

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. The role is varied, you could be doing any of the following during a volunteering shift:

  • Receive donations from our supporters
  • Help to sort, label and price our items before sale
  • Welcome, greet and help our customers
  • Serve customers on the till (training provided)
  • Create wonderful shop displays, re-stock our items on the shop floor
  • Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented
  • Supporting with our online eBay sales (training provided)

You don’t need any experience to join us as a volunteer, you just need to be willing and helpful with a flexible and enthusiastic approach. Full training is provided and we can be flexible around your availability. We are specifically looking for people who are available on Sundays or Saturdays, flexible hours to suit you, you do not need to commit to every Sunday or Saturday.

In return for your enthusiasm, you will have the opportunity to be part of a wonderful team, gain new skills and experience, and most importantly contribute towards making a difference to our service users and their families.

We are happy to reimburse reasonable travel expenses for a small regular commitment. We offer 50% off our donated items across all our UK shops. We are an inclusive charity and welcome all people with differing abilities and support needs. Full training and regular 121 support if needed. Meet new people and be part of a lovely team.

Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18.

We are specifically looking for people who are available on Sundays or Saturdays, flexible hours to suit you, you do not need to commit to every Sunday or Saturday.
