As a volunteer grassroots football coach at Cranbrook Juniors FC, you will play a vital role in shaping the development and enjoyment of young footballers in our community. You will be responsible for providing guidance, support and coaching expertise to children aged 5-12 years old. Key Responsibilities
  • Coaching Sessions: Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate coaching sessions that focus on developing fundamental skills, tactical awareness, and an understanding of the game. Adapt training activities to accommodate varying abilities and ensure a safe, inclusive, and fun learning environment.
  • Player Development: Help players build a strong foundation in technical skills such as passing, shooting, dribbling, and ball control. Provide guidance on teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play, promoting a positive and supportive atmosphere.
  • Match Preparation: Assist in preparing the team for matches by organising practice matches, strategising game plans, and improving player positioning and decision-making. Encourage players to showcase their abilities, enjoy competitive play, and develop their game intelligence.
  • Personal Growth: Encourage and nurture the personal growth of each player, fostering confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude both on and off the pitch. Be a role model by promoting good sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for others.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, and other coaching staff. Provide regular feedback to players on their progress, areas for improvement, and strengths.
  • Safeguarding: Adhere to and promote the club's safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and welfare of all players. Report any concerns or incidents to the designated club officials following the appropriate procedures.

Location Details

Postcode: TN17 3AF Role Address: We are based in Cranbrook but use various facilities to deliver our sessions. Outdoor sessions are delivered on Rammell Field, Cornwallis Field and the Ball Field. Indoor sessions are delivered at the Weald Sports Centre and Cranbrook School. Directions: Parking varies depending on location. All locations are a short walk from the centre of town where several free car parks can be found along with plenty of bus stops.
