About the role: We are seeking a highly experienced and adaptable Project Manager to lead strategic projects across our Digital & Rest Technology domains. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of managing complex projects, engaging diverse stakeholders, and delivering impactful outcomes in a fast‑paced environment. This is a brilliant opportunity for a technologist to expose themselves to a broad range of functions across the business.
- Point of Sale – delivering our next generation POS solution for the UK & Ireland across over 1,000 sites.
- Menu – transforming our menu system & data to ensure we have an agile, efficient and robust menu solution.
- Restaurant Architecture – drive resilience and optimisation around channel injections and future technology integrations.
A strong understanding and track record of managing governance to ensure scope, schedule, cost, and risk is tracked and mitigated is crucial. Above all, individuals will need to be highly adaptable and will be expected to engage a broad range of technical and non‑technical stakeholders, aligning all to the best outcome.
What will you spend your time doing? You will report into the Senior Programme Manager for KFC Tech and work within the Portfolio team. This team’s primary responsibility is around hybrid delivery of projects & programmes and you need to have a broad understanding of different delivery methods to be successful in this role.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Ownership of projects from initiation to delivery.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Be able to work with a hybrid delivery framework, that empowers the team to be self‑sufficient on a day‑to‑day basis but also provides overall visibility & governance of the project.
- Being a great communicator to both our internal stakeholders (other head office functions), global stakeholders (other Yum markets & Global Product Team) and front‑facing stakeholders (restaurants & franchisees) ensuring they are engaged when necessary and supported when needed.
- Establish a robust process for early life support for project go‑lives and transition to our service desk for BAU.
- Build rapport and establish great relationships with both strategic partners and Franchises when necessary.
- Confident in presenting to a wide range of stakeholders across varying levels of seniority and ensuring content is tailored to be engaging and succinct.
What we love from you: Qualifications in project management (agile/waterfall) are required, with any technical qualifications preferred, however applicants with equivalent experience and proven track records will also be considered.
- Project Management Qualification across both a waterfall and agile framework.
- Proven delivery track record with technology software and hardware.
- Minimum 5‑years’ experience working as a Project Manager.
- Exposure to working in a like for like environment across either Hospitality or Retail.
- Experience managing multiple projects across multiple sites.
- Clear and concise communicator.
- Great stakeholder management skills, including demonstrating ability to influence and lead.
- Experience in running workshops to ideate and align stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset leveraging data to make decisions and ensure all parties are clear on the knowledge derived from this analysis.
- Ability to work in a high pressured and agile environment, ensuring teams remain focused and on‑track.
- Knowledge of PMO processes.
- Broad knowledge across a range of project management tools (Jira, Monday.com).
- Good computer literacy skills (Microsoft based applications).
