Somerset Community College's Career and Technical Department invites applications for part-time CDL Instructor positions. This part-time position will be responsible for CDL-A range and road instruction, monitoring and documenting student progress and attendance.

Job Duties:

  • Provide instruction so the students are well-educated and able to pass their written CDL-A permit test, as well as their skills and road tests.
  • Emphasize safety concepts, principles and procedures.
  • Help ensure that the trucks are safe, clean and well maintained.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of over-the-road experience with a standard transmission.
  • Class-A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience.

Additional Skills Requested:

  • Must be able to work as part of a team and must value collaboration.
  • Possess good teaching and organisation skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively both in verbal and written expression.
  • Possess an educational philosophy that is compatible with the mission of the community college.
