Job Summary

Adjunct instructors to teach online courses within the Computer Information Technology (CIT) program.

Courses may include:

β€’ CIT 170 – Database Fundamentals
β€’ CIT 180 – Security Fundamentals
β€’ CIT 144 – Python Programming I

These courses will be delivered in an online format utilizing the Blackboard Learning Management System.

Job Duties:

Position Responsibilities:
β€’ Provide high-quality instruction in assigned Computer Information Technology courses.
β€’ Develop and maintain course content, assignments, assessments, and related instructional materials.
β€’ Deliver instruction and facilitate student engagement through the Blackboard Learning Management System.
β€’ Maintain accurate student records and submit required reports in accordance with college procedures.
β€’ Provide timely feedback to students and support their academic success.
β€’ Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and program administrators.
β€’ Adhere to all KCTCS and SKCTC policies and procedures.

For CIT 170 – Database Fundamentals
β€’ Extensive experience with database technologies such as:
o Microsoft Access
o Microsoft SQL Server
o Other comparable database platforms and technologies


For CIT 180 – Security Fundamentals
β€’ Background in computer security or cybersecurity.
β€’ CompTIA Security+ certification strongly preferred.
β€’ Experience with information security concepts, best practices, and security principles.


For CIT 144 – Python Programming I
β€’ Extensive programming experience.
β€’ Demonstrated proficiency in Python programming fundamentals.
β€’ Experience teaching or mentoring programming students preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

β€’ A bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
β€’ Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the subject area(s) being taught.
β€’ Ability to effectively deliver instruction in an online learning environment.

Additional Skills Requested:

β€’ Experience teaching in higher education, workforce training, or adult education.
β€’ Working knowledge of the Blackboard Learning Management System.
β€’ Experience developing and delivering online coursework.
β€’ Familiarity with instructional technologies and online student engagement strategies.
