Company Details and Job Overview:

A well-established business on the outskirts of Preston are looking to strengthen their finance function by adding a Senior Management Accountant to the team. This position is newly created, due to growth, and to support the Financial Controller with strategic initiatives whilst supervising the finance team and taking ownership for all management accounting and month end activities.
It is an exciting time to join the business in advance of an upcoming acquisition which will double their turnover to approximately £22 million.

Your new role as Senior Management Accountant:
As Senior Management Accountant, you will report to the Financial Controller and lead a team of 3-4 junior finance staff. You will be responsible for the production of the management accounts pack, providing commentary and analysis; balance sheet reconciliations; accruals, prepayments and journals; support the FC in the production of budgets and forecasts; and assist in statutory accounts production and the audit process, liaising with key external stakeholders.
You will work as a Business Partner to deliver and advise on meaningful financial information, communicating with all department managers. You will also be instrumental in a number of significant projects which will include integration of the new business; system developments; process improvements; and cost saving initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:
You will hold a full formal accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and be established in a similar level Management Accounting position. Staff management experience is desirable but not essential as support will be provided in this area. Strong systems skills are essential including Microsoft Excel and you will have working knowledge of bespoke or mainstream finance systems. You will also demonstrate strong levels of commercial acumen, with the ability to influence and challenge where necessary across the business.
