Based on the outskirts of Warrington, this PE backed group are in a period of growth. Adding talent to the finance function in a newly created role, the CFO is looking to strengthen the finance team, ensuring commercial value is added across all areas of the business as they continue to grow. A group structure, with several revenue streams, each operate within a niche area of the service sector. Reporting to the CFO, this role will ultimately lead on month end process, ensuring statutory requirements of the business are met and accounting processes are improved and developed in line with the continued growth of the group. As Senior Management Accountant, you shall lead as the right-hand person to the Group FC, assisting the statutory audit and budget processes. With a keen focus on supporting profitable business growth and associated cost control, you shall work with the team to enhance financial analysis and commercial reporting, enabling the decision-making process whilst building a business partnering and analytical mindset within the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Month end cycle, supported by the wider finance team.
- Lead on Balance sheet control, ensuring full balance sheet reconciliations are completed for the group.
- Preparation of VAT returns and comps.
- Work to drive enhancements across IT systems, developing internal reports whilst ensuring automation of tasks are part of internal processes where possible.
- Manage review and implement strong internal controls, ensuring compliance and internal accounting policies adopt best practice throughout the department.
- Building up to supervise and manage the accounts ledger team, reviewing outputs and identifying coaching and development needs.
- Finance business partner to other departments and operational teams, ensuring financial analysis and commercial reporting is completed to challenge the business and aid decision making.
Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:
To be considered you shall be fully qualified, or towards the end of study for ACA/ACCA/CIMA. With over 3 years experience in a similar Management Accounting role you shall have a strong technical skillset and be able to drive commercial decision making through the production of detailed financial analysis. With a strong commercial awareness, you shall have the skills and ability to work at pace, whilst ensuring accuracy. This role will require the skills of someone able to drive efficiencies, having the experience already will have a clear benefit to your application.
