A well-established SME based on the outskirts of Carlisle are looking to appoint a new Finance Assistant. Working in a small and friendly team, this is a varied and hands-on position reporting directly to the Financial Controller. With a current turnover in the region of £7-8m, further growth is anticipated through organic growth and new contract wins.
Key Benefits/ Rewards on Offer:
- Full time, office based role with flexibility on start/finish times (start between 7:30am-8:30am, 4pm finish each Friday)

Your New Role as Finance Assistant:
As Finance Assistant, you will enjoy a diverse role covering the entire spectrum of finance. With support from an experienced and engaging Financial Controller, responsibilities will include:
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Posting month end journals and prepayments
- Cashflow monitoring
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register
- VAT and PAYE submissions and payments
- Processing supplier payments
- Payroll processing, handling any queries
- Support with credit control duties as required
- Support with overhead analysis
- Provision of ad hoc reports and analysis to help with decision making
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
The successful candidate will be proven in a similar level role with solid transactional accounting skills, ideally with month end exposure. Strong communication skills are required as you will be required to liaise with various stakeholders including internal non-finance staff.
