About the Opportunity
Our client, a respected and established regional civil engineering contractor, is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. Operating across Worcestershire and Warwickshire, the company delivers a range of infrastructure, highways, groundworks, and public realm projects, and is expanding due to sustained project growth. We are keen to speak with early-career Quantity Surveyors looking to develop their experience within a supportive, reputable civil engineering environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside senior commercial staff to support the financial and contractual control of civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with cost planning, measurement, and valuations
- Supporting the preparation of bills of quantities and tender documentation
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement, assessment, and management
- Monitoring site progress, costs, variations, and forecasts
- Contributing to monthly commercial reports and final accounts
- Working within NEC or other civil engineering contract forms
- Collaborating closely with site teams, subcontractors, and clients
About You:
- 1–3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within civil engineering or construction
- Working towards or holding a relevant qualification (HND/HNC, BSc Quantity Surveying, or equivalent)
- Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
- Organised, proactive, and motivated to progress within the civil engineering sector
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across regional sites
