Site Engineer / Site Setting out engineer

We have a need for a freelance site engineer (with or without kit) in Birmingham B32 2UY for high-risk debris screens. The role involves working on a series of debris screen projects that includes the replacement, modification, and removal of existing screen structures as per accepted detailed design.

The candidate will need experience in:

• Progress reports
• Compiling and maintaining quality assurance records
• Design co-ordination
• Temporary works co-ordination

The Main Duties for this role are:

• Undertake day to day setting out duties with no supervision.
• Manage and monitor all site sample/performance testing requirements and maintain records in line with the contract specification.
• Assist the site QS/Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes.
• Monitor and control temporary works.
• Develop and maintain relations with client, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
• Setting out using total stations and traditional setting out.
• Read and review construction drawings.
• Undertake basic take-offs.
• Raise technical queries with designers and other members of the client team.
• Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum 5 years experience delivering complex projects.
• Relevant CSCS.
• Computer competence.
• Civil Engineering related qualification.
• Successful experience as a site engineer.
