We are currently looking to engage an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support a well-established civil engineering contractor with an annual turnover of circa 150m, delivering a strong pipeline of projects across the South East. This is a long-term freelance opportunity operating outside IR35, ideal for a capable engineer confident across infrastructure and groundwork packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out precise setting out using Leica TS16 total station and associated survey equipment
  • Managing and overseeing works including:
  • Drainage (foul, surface water, attenuation, deep drainage)
  • Utilities installation and coordination (water, gas, electric, telecoms)
  • Modular building groundwork and installation interfaces
  • Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and QA procedures
  • Producing as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records
  • Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and design engineers
  • Supporting and promoting safe systems of work on site
  • Requirements

    • Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering environments
    • Strong technical knowledge of drainage and utilities infrastructure
    • Experience working alongside or coordinating modular/off-site construction packages beneficial
    • Proficient in the use of Leica TS16
    • Valid CSCS card
    • EUSR CAT
