Our client is a leading groundworks and infrastructure contractor with an annual turnover in excess of £100 million, delivering large-scale residential infrastructure and groundwork packages for many of the UK's leading housebuilders and developers.

With a reputation for technical excellence, commercial strength, and high-quality project delivery, the business has established itself as a key player within the residential infrastructure sector. Due to continued growth and a substantial pipeline of secured projects, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Bedfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role within a highly successful contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple groundworks and infrastructure projects, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and successful project delivery.

Working closely with Commercial Managers, Contracts Managers, and Operational teams, you will take ownership of projects from procurement through to final account.

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple groundworks and infrastructure projects
  • Maximise contract profitability and ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve margins
  • Manage subcontract procurement, appointments, and account administration
  • Provide commercial support to operational teams throughout project delivery
  • Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within groundworks, infrastructure, or civil engineering:

  • Strong understanding of residential infrastructure packages including roads, drainage, foundations, and external works
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience producing CVRs, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)

Salary up to £90,000 per annum depending on experience:
