Senior Management Accountant
A well-established business on the outskirts of Preston is looking to strengthen its finance function by adding a Senior Management Accountant to the team. This is a newly created position due to growth, supporting the Financial Controller with strategic initiatives, supervising the finance team, and owning all management accounting and month-end activities.
This is an exciting opportunity, especially with an upcoming acquisition that will double the company\’s turnover to approximately £22 million.

Your Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead a team of 3-4 junior finance staff. Responsibilities include producing management accounts with commentary and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals, supporting budgets and forecasts, and assisting in statutory accounts production and audits. You will liaise with external stakeholders and act as a Business Partner to advise on financial information, communicating with department managers. You will also be involved in significant projects such as business integration, system development, process improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Applicants should hold a full accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and have experience at a similar management accounting level. Staff management experience is desirable but not essential. Strong systems skills, including Microsoft Excel and familiarity with finance systems, are required. Demonstrating commercial acumen and the ability to influence across the business is essential.
