An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure and decarbonisation project in the North East. This high-profile scheme will play a significant role in supporting the UK’s transition towards a more sustainable future.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of key work packages, ensuring effective cost control, risk management, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
The Role
- Leading the commercial management of allocated project sections from procurement through to final account
- Preparing, managing, and reporting project budgets and forecasts
- Administering contracts (NEC experience preferred) and managing subcontractor relationships
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Overseeing valuations, variations, and change control processes
- Producing accurate financial reporting for senior stakeholders
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
About You
To be considered, you should have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within major infrastructure, industrial, energy, or civils projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders within complex project environments
- Degree qualification (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) would be advantageous
