Description

The Opportunity:

Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting for a full-time and permanent Purchase Ledger Clerk on behalf of a business that is based in Carlisle. This company has a turnover of circa 35 million pounds, and has been operating for over 30 years. This role will support the maintenance of purchase ledgers across four trading legal entities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, credits, and payments. Salary and Benefits:

– A salary of £27,000 – £30,000
– 33 days of annual leave (including bank holidays)

Your New Role as the Purchase Ledger Clerk:

•Accurately code and post supplier invoices and credit notes using cloud based document capture software, as well as the Pegasus Opera accounts package.
• Ensure a high level of accuracy in input and coding of invoices and credit notes.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, goods received notes, and other relevant transactional data.
• Liaise with managers for the approval of supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with authorisation procedures and limits.
• Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details.
• Complete supplier statement reconciliations.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve any invoicing or payment queries.
• Prepare suggested payment reports for BACS payments, ready for review and authorisation.
• Prepare month-end purchase order accruals.
• Meet agreed targets and deadlines for month-end close.
• Ensure compliance with relevant finance policies and procedures in all activities.

• Proven experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk or similar (ESSENTIAL)
• Excellent organisational skills, able to work to deadlines, prioritise tasks, and manage your workload while maintaining high levels of accuracy (ESSENTIAL)
