Are you an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor looking for a new challenge with a growing and reputable company? You have an exciting opportunity to join a national main contractor operating across East Anglia. The role will involve working on a £50m coastal defence and pumping station project on the East Coast.
My client is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function! They are seeking someone from a main contractor, regional contractor or subcontracting background but must have a heavy civils or civil infrastructure background.
Duties will include:
- Be able to see the bigger picture to commercially deliver larger projects
- Confidently build relationships with clients and subcontractors
- Make sure that contracts are well managed and that subcontractors are properly procured and paid
- Monitor how contracts are progressing and work with multi-disciplinary teams to spot opportunities to minimise costs and maximise value for money
- Keep a keen eye on any changes to the project and sensitively handle conversations around their impact on cost
- Grow through exposure, mentorship and excellent soft skills and technical training
- Have plenty of opportunity to keep building invaluable professional networks
