We are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Engineer to support the delivery of major infrastructure works within the water sector, with a strong emphasis on tunnelling and associated civil engineering works. This is a freelance role offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on technically complex, high-profile projects.
The Role
You will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of tunnelling and civil engineering activities, working closely with site teams, designers, and project management.
Responsibilities may include:
- Technical leadership across tunnelling and heavy civils packages
- Engineering input to temporary and permanent works design
- Supporting construction planning, sequencing, and methodology development
- Managing and reviewing subcontractor works and engineering deliverables
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and in line with quality standards

About You
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, temporary works, and ground conditions
- Comfortable working in a freelance/contract capacity and integrating quickly into project teams
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
