About the Company
Our client is a well-established residential groundworks and civil engineering contractor with an annual turnover of approximately £80 million, delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundwork packages for leading UK housebuilders across the Midlands region. With a strong reputation for safety, technical delivery, and long-standing client relationships, the business continues to grow and secure major residential developments throughout the East Midlands.
Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to support the delivery of multiple residential groundworks projects.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Senior Site Engineer with a background in residential groundworks and infrastructure to join a growing contractor with a substantial pipeline of work. The successful candidate will play a key role in the engineering and technical delivery of projects, ensuring works are completed accurately, safely, and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all engineering aspects of residential groundworks projects
- Carry out setting out for roads, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure works
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and QA procedures
- Supervise and support Site Engineers and subcontractors on site
- Coordinate with Site Managers, Contracts Managers, and technical teams
- Produce and maintain accurate site records, surveys, and as-built information
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained across all engineering activities
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site efficiently
- Monitor progress against programme and support delivery targets
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Engineer within residential groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of roads, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure works
- Proficient in setting out using GPS and robotic total station equipment
- Experience managing junior engineers and coordinating site activities
- Good understanding of QA procedures and as-built documentation
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- CSCS card required
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or similar preferred)
