Our client is a growing residential groundworks contractor, delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects across housing developments. With a strong pipeline of live and upcoming projects, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of multiple schemes in the Kettering area.
As Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial side of residential groundworks projects, working closely with site teams and senior commercial management. This role offers hands-on responsibility, exposure to large-scale projects, and the opportunity to grow within an expanding contractor.
Key Responsibilities- Full commercial management of residential groundworks projects
- Preparing interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts
- Monitoring budgets, forecasting, and producing monthly commercial reports
- Managing subcontractor procurement, accounts, and payments
- Evaluating contract variations and managing change control
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Liaising closely with site teams to track progress and costs
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff as required
- Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in residential groundworks, civil engineering, or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and cost management
- Commercially aware and proactive
- Excellent communication skills with site teams, clients, and subcontractors
- Confident using IT systems for reporting and commercial control
