We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming residential infrastructure projects. This role will focus heavily on residential groundworks, including roads and sewers, and requires a hands-on engineer with strong setting-out and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for residential groundworks packages, including roads, drainage, and foundations
- Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and QA requirements
- Managing and interpreting technical drawings and site documentation
- Coordinating with site managers, subcontractors, and design teams
- Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations at all times
- Supporting progress reporting and resolving technical issues on site
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer within residential groundworks
- Strong knowledge of roads and sewers (278 works, drainage, adoptable standards)
- Proficient in setting out using GPS and total station equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
- Own equipment preferred but not essential
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
