My Client are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Site Manager / Project Manager to take full control of a major residential groundworks package starting March 2026, for a 10-month contract. This is a No.1 on site position, responsible for the successful delivery of groundworks and civils on a large-scale housing development.
THE PROJECT
- Residential development of approximately 120 housing units
- Full groundworks and civils package
- Piled foundations and precast ring beams
- Roads and sewers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acting as Number 1 on site, overseeing daily site operations
- Managing all groundworks and civils activities
- Coordination of piled foundations and precast ring beam installation
- Managing roads and sewers packages
- Ordering materials and maintaining a materials tracker
- Managing and tracking RFIs
- Leading and managing a site team of around 12 personnel, including a Site Engineer
- Client liaison, attending and leading client meetings
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to quality standards
- Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers
- Reporting progress and issues to senior stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on residential groundworks projects
- Strong background in civils, piling, and infrastructure works
- Experience operating as No.1 on site
- Confident managing site teams and subcontractors
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold) required
- First Aid certification required
