We are currently recruiting for 2 x HSE Leads to join a major international contractor on a large-scale data centre construction project in Frankfurt. This is a site-based leadership position, with responsibility for overseeing HSE performance across the project and acting as a key point of contact between the contractor, client and wider project team.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for leading HSE from a site level, driving standards, compliance and continuous improvement across a major data centre build. This would suit an experienced HSE professional who has already worked on large-scale data centre projects for a main contractor and is comfortable operating at a senior site level with significant client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all HSE activities across the project site
  • Develop, implement and maintain project HSE standards and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with German legislation, project requirements and client standards
  • Provide visible HSE leadership across the site
  • Manage and monitor HSE performance of subcontractors and site teams
  • Conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Drive proactive safety initiatives and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with project management and construction teams
  • Act as a key HSE liaison with the client and other project stakeholders
  • Report on HSE performance, trends, risks and corrective actions
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the project

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Proven HSE experience within the data centre sector – essential
  • Main contractor background – essential
  • Experience leading HSE at site/project level
  • Strong knowledge of construction HSE practices
  • Experience working with major subcontractors and project stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to operate confidently within a fast-paced, high-pressure construction environment

Experience working with UK or Irish main contractors would be highly advantageous, although this is not essential.
