A well-established Group of businesses are looking to recruit a new Financial Controller for one of their sizeable divisions. This is an autonomous role sitting as divisional number 1 in finance at their Preston site, with support and guidance as required from their parent company at Group level. The role offers a good balance of hands-on routine and technical accounting duties coupled with strategic involvement to drive further growth within the business. This is a full-time, office-based role and flexibility on working hours is available. Opportunities for career development will be available in line with exciting future plans within the business.
Your New Role as Financial Controller:
- Leading a small team of finance staff, as Financial Controller you will take ownership for all financial activity for the division.
- Production of the management accounts pack.
- Preparation of statutory accounts, leading the audit process.
- Oversight of purchase ledger and sales ledger.
- Oversight of payroll.
- Business partnering across various departments, providing meaningful financial insight, challenging when necessary.
- Provision of strategic support to aid effective decision making, contributing to growth plans.
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), although candidates who are qualified by experience will be considered. Technically strong, you will also demonstrate good commercial acumen with the ability to work cross-functionally to support business plans. Additionally, proven ability to review and enhance existing systems and processes, implementing improvements where appropriate is advantageous.
