Kenton?Black are seeking a permanent Assistant Site Manager to join their client’s expanding team in Dundee.
The company, a respected leader in residential construction, is looking to appoint a proactive Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in delivering high-quality housing projects on time, within budget and to the highest health & safety standards.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop your site leadership skills on a varied portfolio of new-build homes while working alongside an experienced construction team.
Key Responsibilities - Support the Site Manager in day-to-day site operations, ensuring all activities run smoothly and safely.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractors and tradesmen, managing deliveries, plant and labour to meet programme milestones.
- Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks, promoting a strong health & safety culture and ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.
- Assist in preparing and updating site documentation, including daily reports, risk assessments, method statements and progress photographs.
- Track and report on project budgets, material usage and labour costs, highlighting any variances and proposing corrective actions.
- Liaise with the client, consultants, suppliers and local authorities to resolve issues promptly and maintain strong relationships.
- Support quality control processes, conducting inspections and ensuring works meet the required standards and specifications.
- Contribute to the preparation of handover documentation and snagging lists, facilitating smooth project close-out.
- Mentor and guide junior site staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
What You Bring - SMSTS / SSSTS, CSCS & First Aid - Minimum 3?years experience in a site-based role within residential construction (e. g., Assistant Site Manager, Supervisor).
- Proven ability to manage multiple trades on a busy site while maintaining health & safety and quality standards.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, health & safety legislation (CDM, HSE) and NHBC building regulations.
- Good numeracy and commercial awareness – able to read and interpret budgets, schedules and purchase orders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable liaising with senior management, subcontractors and clients.
- Ability to problem-solve on the spot and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level?3/4 in Construction, Site Management, or a degree in Construction/Engineering are desirable.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites in the Dundee area.
