A leading marine and civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of marine, coastal, harbour, and infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of complex marine and civil engineering schemes, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial performance of multiple marine and infrastructure projects
- Preparing cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Administering subcontractor packages and procurement processes
- Producing accurate financial reporting and forecasts
- Managing NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial success
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within marine, civil engineering, infrastructure, or heavy construction sectors
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Experience managing complex infrastructure or marine-based projects desirable
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities
- Ability to work independently and lead commercial activities across projects
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred
- Professional membership (RICS/CICES or similar) advantageous
