A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking to recruit a Junior Estimator to join its growing pre-construction team in the Midlands. The business is currently experiencing a strong period of sustained growth, with a healthy pipeline of projects across the Midlands and wider UK, delivering complex schemes in sectors including transport, utilities, aviation and major infrastructure developments.

As a Junior Estimator, you will support the pre-construction team in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost plans. You will gain hands-on experience across all stages of the estimating process, with clear progression into a more senior role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Supporting the subcontractor and supplier enquiry process
- Helping to build up rates, cost plans and pricing documents
- Assisting in identifying risks and value engineering opportunities
- Supporting the preparation of tender reports and submissions
- Working closely with estimators, engineers and commercial teams
What They’re Looking For:
- 1–3 years’ experience in estimating or engineering role within construction or civil engineering
- A strong interest in civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work within a team and manage deadlines
- Proficiency in Excel (estimating software experience is a bonus)
Desirable:
- Degree or working towards a degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Previous exposure to infrastructure or civil engineering projects
