An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bid Manager or Senior Bid Manager to join a leading UK infrastructure and construction organisation delivering complex, high-value projects across multiple sectors.
Working within a dynamic and fast-paced business division, you will lead and manage strategic bids and tender submissions, supporting business growth objectives across major frameworks, public sector opportunities, and private sector projects. This is a highly collaborative role requiring exceptional stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to produce compelling, high-quality submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end bid management process from PQQ/EOI through to final submission and client presentation
- Develop winning bid strategies aligned to client requirements and business objectives
- Coordinate contributions from operational, commercial, legal, estimating, and technical teams
- Manage bid programmes, governance, and approval processes
- Facilitate bid kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and lessons learned workshops
- Ensure submissions are compliant, professionally presented, and delivered within deadlines
- Support and mentor junior bid professionals where appropriate
- Drive continuous improvement across bid processes, systems, and content libraries
- Build strong internal relationships with senior stakeholders and operational leaders
About You
- Proven experience in a Bid Manager or Senior Bid Manager role within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, rail, highways, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of public and private sector procurement processes
- Experience managing complex bids with values ranging from medium to major projects/frameworks
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Strong written communication and presentation capability
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
Desirable
- APMP qualification or equivalent
- Experience within Tier 1 contracting or major infrastructure organisations
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and framework procurement
- Leadership or mentoring experience
