We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join an ongoing major highways infrastructure project in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term civil engineering scheme delivering key highways and public realm improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for a range of highways and civils works
- Overseeing construction activities to ensure works are delivered safely and to specification
- Managing and maintaining QA documentation
- Producing and completing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Ensuring accurate as-built records are maintained
- Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and management
- Supporting delivery of works in line with programme and technical requirements
Scope of Works Includes
- Highways construction and associated infrastructure
- Cycleways and footpath construction
- Drainage installation
- Ducting and utilities infrastructure
- Reinforced Concrete (RC) structures
- Kerbing, paving, and surfacing works
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on highways or major civils projects
- Strong setting out capability using Leica or Trimble equipment
- Good understanding of QA processes and ITP management
- Experience with drainage, ducting, and RC works
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- CSCS card essential
- SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
