Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor for a leading residential groundworks contractor, you will manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects from award to final account. You’ll work with Contracts Managers, Site Teams and clients to deliver profitably while maintaining strong relationships. You’ll handle interim valuations, cost reporting and procurement, shaping commercial decisions on high-value groundworks packages. This role offers long-term progression within a secure business with a strong order book and regional impact.

Responsibilities
- Commercial management of multiple residential groundworks projects
- Preparation and submission of interim applications and valuations
- Measurement and valuation of variations
- Cost reporting, forecasting and monthly CVRs
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Agreement of subcontractor accounts
- Preparation of final accounts
- Monitoring project costs, budgets and cash flow
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Liaising with Clients, Site Teams and Senior Management
- Assisting with contract administration and dispute resolution
- Supporting the Commercial Manager with strategic commercial objectives
Key requirements
- Experience in residential groundworks, civil engineering or infrastructure contracting
- Strong understanding of roads & sewers, foundations, drainage and external works
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Experience producing CVRs, cost reports and final accounts
- Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and account management
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and commercial software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
