About the Opportunity
At Kenton Black, we are working with a major UK principal contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a significant infrastructure project in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering major civil engineering works within the highways sector. You will support the Commercial Manager on a flagship infrastructure scheme, assisting in the commercial administration, reporting, and financial performance of the project. This role would suit someone based locally in the South West, although relocation support may be available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and promoting a safe working environment across the project.
- Prepare and manage subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms, prices, and programmes.
- Administer and manage subcontract work packages.
- Produce and issue commercial notices to both the client and subcontractors in accordance with contract requirements.
- Manage contractual change, including preparation and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR).
- Maintain and update a detailed cost plan, including forecasting expenditure and subcontractor liabilities.
- Use Oracle-based cost analysis tools and other commercial systems.
- Support the commercial team in maximising value and project profitability.
