Adding talent to the finance function, the group Financial Controller is looking to strengthen the ledger function, ensuring day-to-day activity is managed effectively as they continue to grow. A group structure, with several revenue streams, each operate within a niche area of the service sector. Company details and job overview: The Purchase Ledger Controller will manage and maintain an efficient and up-to-date ledger, ensuring suppliers are paid on time. Supporting the Finance team, this role shall achieve the highest standards in all accounting areas and will assist the Group Financial Controller with ad hoc finance projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To process, post and code all supplier invoices in Sage, managing all purchase ledger activity across several revenue streams.
- To produce a list of suggested payments for authorisation weekly, taking into consideration terms and due dates.
- To reconcile supplier accounts and cross-check to supplier statements.
- To accurately allocate costs across the different departments and sites.
- To assist with ad hoc projects, to enhance the purchase ledger function.
- To oversee the petty cash function and check the reconciliations monthly.
- To ensure that all relevant invoices are posted and included for the month-end deadline.
- To strive for continuous improvement in all areas relating to the finance department.
- To embrace Continued Professional Development and a culture of learning.
Experience & Qualifications Required to apply: To be considered, you shall be fully rehearsed within ledger management and ideally AAT qualified. An experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk, you shall have experience working with finance systems; Sage experience is preferred but not essential. With time-served experience processing detailed and high-volume ledgers, you shall also have experience of detailed petty cash and cash handling. With nominal ledger experience, you shall be able to deliver accuracy and have a strong attention to detail.
